SOAS UNISON balloted our 33 members who belong to the USS pension scheme over taking strike action to oppose the recent changes being imposed that would see significant increases to employee contributions.
We are pleased to say that 76% of those SOAS UNISON members balloted voted YES to strike action on a 75.8% turnout.
SOAS UNISON will now discuss what action we will take with our affected members as well as Regional and National colleagues following the UCU Higher Education Committee meeting scheduled for 30 January 2020.
Thanks to all the members who took the time to vote and make sure their voices were heard.
We will update the whole branch in the near future.
